Skittles, out and about

So my new (and first) cham Skittles has just recently started wanting to explore outside his cage. For the first time this week, if I open the door to his enclosure, he eventually crawls towards it, and makes a beeline across the floor to my table filled with plants. He spent about an hour today sitting on my plants, looking out the window.

Now that it's almost spring, I think I'm going to have to get him a nice hibiscus to sit on by the window...

He's a handsome fellow! When it gets warm enough (April or May in Minneapolis?:D) you'll have to open up the window and let him get some unfiltered sunlight, or take him outside for supervised basking - they love the pure sun.

Niiiiice panther!

How about some pics of his enclosure (to see if he is just exploring or escaping):p

I can't wait for the good weather here in Toronto so my guys can catch some rays (and ME TOO!)

Aww I love the secound picture!! He is like a little bag of skittles, so colorful!

My boys like to sit in front of the window on a hibiscus and Placebo sun bask too. They love it.

Thanks, all! He's about 8 months old, I believe, and I got him at the NARBC in Chicago last month from Julie tenBensel at Windy City Chameleons (Chamo Wear Inc.) I hope to eventually get him a lady friend, and get some gorgeous babies!

He's beautiful!!! I'm guessing the hibiscus are good for Panthers? We are going to be getting our baby panther in roughly a week and would love to get a more sturdy plant to put in his terrarium (we have a ficus right now, but the branches bend so easily!)

Hibiscus is a good chameleon plant; can be sturdy, and can have pretty flowers (which some chams delight in eating; they're safe). Schefflera (umbrella plant) is another good one. Some Ficus are better than others; look for one of the longer leafed varieties (Alii and Amstel King Ficus are good; they often come in decorative varieties with braided trunks).

OMG - I have no idea how I missed this thread! Yay - you got pics of him on here! Now we just need some more pictures, more updates, etc..... He looks great!

I'm glad to see you on here and I hope you and the boy are doing well. Let me know when you're ready for a lady friend for him (I have one that's the same age and available....) hint, hint..... :D
