If you can the ribs slightly when they sleep does that mean they are underweight? There is a pic of him sleeping as my avatar and in my other post skinny veiled

From what I can see in your avatar picture, he does look shinny. Have you had him checked for parasites lately?

No I have not any sure way to tell if he has them?

Do you have a chameleon vet? Just make an appointment and take some fresh poop with you and they can do a fecal to see if he has parasites.

but could it be because he is shedding right now as I heard they eat little when they shed?

I raise veileds and I can say that sometimes they look really skinny and sometimes they puff up to look huge! It is not uncommon to see their ribs showing since the ribs are very flexible to accomodate their puffing up when they fire up. I can't tell by the little pic in your avatar. Please load it somewhere else so it can be enlarged.
Also, a male that is under a year tends to be a bit thinner looking then a full sized adult. They are still growing after all.
