Skinny & Shedding questions

I have a 5 month old Male Veiled and He is shedding for the first time since I have had him. I have had him since Friday last week. He looks quite skinny and I bought him that way. I am worried that he isn't eating enough. Today he started to shed and he hasn't eaten a thing. I have crickets for free ranging and a couple in the cup. He just won't eat today. I really haven't had him long enough to say I have been raising wrong. I do the best i can to feed him and care for him in the 5 days I have had him. He began to shed today and maybe that's why he isn't eating? I also never see him drinking. I mist his cage for 5 minutes about 5 times a day. I also have a dripper set up for him. Should I drip onto a leaf or should I drip directly over a branch so he can drink from the tube? Please help me figure out what is going on and what I should do. I will post some pictures of him tomorrow so you all can get an idea of what is going on. You are all awesome and a real great help since I have been a member thanks everyone.

Chameleon- Veiled, Male, 5 Months, and I have had him for 5 days now
Handling- I rarely try to handle him. I want him to get used to his cage and feel comfortable
Feeding- I feed him medium sized crickets that the women at the pet store gave me. She told me to just let the crickets loose in the cage and he'll eat when he is hungry. I am going to start gut-loading after this set of crickets is gone.
Supplements- Rep-Cal Herpetive and Calcium and I dusted the first 10 crickets I threw in there.
Watering- I have a little dripper and I also mist the cage 4 to 5 times a day.
Fecal Description- His dropping are brown with some white at the end. And I am not sure if he was tested for parasites but the women at the pet shop said he was very healthy.
History- I haven't had him too long but I was told he is healthy and friendly.

Cage Type- I have Repti Breeze 18x18x36 screen cage
Lighting- I have one Zoo Med Deep Dome Lamp Fixture with a 50 Watt basking light and a Reptisun 20 inch fixture and a 5.0 Repti-Glow Light because i can't find a Reptisun by me I'll order one soon,
Temperature- The Temps during the day in his basking spot are from 78 to 82 and at the bottom of the cage it's about 74-76. The lowest temperature was last night because it was cool out and it was at 69. I have a Zoo Med Digital Thermometer.
Humidity- I mist the cage to maintain the humidity. The levels are between 40 and 60 percent. I have a humidity gauge in there.
Plants- I have 2 live plants in there. A money plant and an umbrella plant but today I am going to buy a Hibiscus also.
Placement- The cage is located next to my best on my nightstand. No fans or vents near my cage. The top of the cage is about 5 ft.
Location- I am located in Northern New Jersey.

It's not uncommon for them to slow down or even stop eating at shed time. I think that's particularly true of younger chameleons. Shedding seems to be such a major event for the youngsters.

It's also not uncommon for people to not see their chameleons drinking. Some people say they never see them drink. As long as you are seeing white on the poop (that's the "urate" or pee...) then he's drinking.

He just finished shedding and now he is brown rather than green. He was a bright green and now he is all brown is that bad?

Here are pics of my little guy =] Please let me know if he looks healthy or not. Thanks everyone :D

You could try bumping the temperature in the basking area up a few degrees (mid 80's) to see if that helps. If he continues not to eat then post again.

So what do you all think? He's a cool looking dude =] He look healthy? He hasn't eaten in 2 days though =[ I really hope he eats tomorrow.
