Silly question from newbie!

Hello everyone! I have been perusing the forums for a little while trying to learn as much as possible about chameleons before bringing one home. I was so worried about getting it right that I had decided against it...keep in mind I have 3 small parrots, a Great Dane and a horse so, animal husbandry isn't new to me. My concerns were mainly around feeding but it turns out that is actually the easier part of having a chameleon. Especially considering I feed my birds the same raw food as the crickets and dusting/supplementing isn't as tough as it reads. If you haven't guessed it, my husband and I picked up a young panther and most of the accoutrements this weekend in Daytona at the breeder expo.

For the last two days we have been cleaning live plants to use in his room. After putting together an umbrella plant, pruning it just right, big river stones and organic soil it was still too big. Luckily, I picked up half of a gazillion options so I went with a nice hibiscus to start. Now...the problem. I have picked up 4 different kinds of organic soil however, it seems that they all have some sort of 'ite' in it. So my question? What brand of soil are you all using? Right now the hibiscus is covered with paper plates and big river stones so there isn't any risk to Akule but I'd love a more permanent solution.

Oh one other off topic question, is it normal for them to gnaw on the nubby bits from old pruning sites? Thanks for reading the uber long note in advance!!

No its not normal from what I know. Can we see a pic of the cage? Also supplementing is calcium every day, calcium with d3 twice a month and reptivite twice a month

From what I have read and have experienced a little bit with my own panther, panther's at a certain young age chew on things a lot. So I tend to supplement this chewing need with lots of hard bodied feeders, though sometimes they will still chew on their branches. ^^ So weird.

I have a few to share but it keeps crashing my device. Is there a secret or do I just need to bring out the ole laptop?
