I have not attempted eggs. It takes weeks to get them to a size where you can feed them off. Plus there is the money your spending on their chow, cleaning, and feeding everyday. For me it is much easier to just buy them and start feeding them off. I still buy the chow and feed and clean each day but I am not investing the weeks of time in trying to grow them.
Im trying to raise some up. It takes up some time every day to make sure they are clean and fed. I hope it works out so I can show my little boys. Toddlers love that stuff! "What daddy, what?" gets me laughing everytime. Not sure yet if I will keep on going with this or go back to buying and feeding. Thomas loves them and runs to my hand to get them.
