Silkworms / Hornworms

Nutritionally:

Hornworms are about 9% protein, Silks are 63% protein.

Water for both is about 84%.

Fat for both is about 4%.

Calcium for both is 44 ml/100grams.

As feeders:

Hornworms are available year around, easy to hatch and raise, grow huge, only eat Hornworm Chow, and are green, which triggers some reptiles strike response.

Silks are sporadically available, easy to hatch, sometimes not so easy to raise, and can be fed Mulberry leaves to save $ on Silk Chow.

CHEERS!

Silkworm pods are still currently available from Coastal and Mulberry. Seem to last longer and easier to maintain. Ssshhhh! Don't tell anyone. :)
