Silkworms help

Hi guys, I got my first ever order of silkworms today in the mail. They are tiny. Only about 3/4-1 inch long. I also got what I am assuming is food for them. It looks like a container with a hard gel like material in it. The silkworms have a leaf in their currently, but how the heck do I care of them? I read online about grating up the food. Is that correct? Help!!! Thanks

Did they come with the leaf? They weren't transferred to the chow ahead of time? Do you have a source of leaves at all? Usually you can't transfer silkworms to chow without a couple leaves to help you along.

Hi guys thanks for responding. There is one container with the tiny worms in it with leaves in it. Then there is another container with the hard gel like material in it. No powder. I tried contacting Phat Jack where I got them from, but there site was down all night long. I will try again this am. I kind of feel like an idiot with these worms. I just don't know what to do. Thanks for responding

@Rapunzel's Pascal I can send some extra leaves if you need it. I have done it successfully before with tortoise keepers. So if you need some extras to keep then going until you can switch them I can easily send some. I grow mulberry leaves for my silks and various other animals who will eat them. All you would need to do is pay shipping.

Just ordered 1000 silkworm eggs despite me having 0 silkworm experience. Do I have to start them on chow or do they need to start on leaves and moved to chow over time? Is there a certain type of mulberry leaf they must have?
