Silkworm food

Hello, I'm new to this, just want to know what's best to gut load silkworms?, other that chow ? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

The only food I've given mine is the chow.....and a few Dandelion leaves to make the chow last longer :). So dandelion is ok, or mulberry leaves. I'm not sure if there is anything else.

what is the chow? i keep seeing it pop up! is it something you can make at home or you get it from a store?

Once they are started on chow it is hard to get them to eat anything else. I have been able to get them to eat dandelion greens and carrot.

silkworms will eat chow, mullberry leaves, dandelion leaves, grape vine leaves, soft or thin-shaved carrot, and more.

You can make a paste (blender) from dandelion, grape vine leaves, mulberry leaves, mustard greens, basil, some steamed sweet potatoe, some cooked carrot, a little wheat germ, a dash of spirulina and a little pinch of brewers yeast. I found mine didnt take to this paste right away, but smearing it very thin on fresh dandelion leaves (which they were already accustomed to) a couple times did the trick.
(use up quickly -dont make too much - or use extra for hornworms, crickets and roaches )
