Silk worms expensive?

If my math is right, its gonna cost me a buck a worm, if i want to keep 50 worms 50 days. That seems really expensive. Does some one have a secret stash that will ship 50 worms + 1/2lb of food for less than $50? At least 1000 crickets only cost me $25 and will last 2 months if i keep them below 70.

I purchased eggs from smallpetfeeders and they never hatched. It's been about 3 months now : (

I just purchased live ones from coastal today ; )
