Sick Panther sleeping

Have about a 8 month old panther. He had an URI and hadn't eaten for about a week. When I went in for his check up and brought his feces she saw parasites which he is being treated for. He got an abnormal amount of handling lately along with about an hour of vet inspection/treatment. My question is... Would it be normal under these circumstances for him to sleep in longer the next day following a day filled with stressful activity? I came home on my lunch break and he was still sleeping 4 hours past his usual wake up time. Although it's storming here and very dark in his room which is normally bright as day. Any input or suggestions?

So is he now awake and behaving normally or is he still trying to sleep? I think that would be more significant. The stress of handling and vet treatment for parasites shouldn't cause more than a few hours of stress once he's back in his normal setup.

I can't recall the two parasites the vet found. One of them had amoeba in the name. He is being treated with Metronidazole syrup and Ponazuril

Just was curious. I had a panther with Coccidia and I treated him with Ponzuril. He was very tiny and survived the treatment.

I believe that is one of them he had. It has been a constant fight to keep him healthy but he is a great little guy and I am doing all I can to keep him going. He wouldn't drink when I got him at all. He's got a mist King, filtered custom chameleon fountain and a dripper yet he still has gotten dehydrated on multiple occasions. I've had to give him water by hand for the better part of the time I've had him. When I notice something wrong I've taken him to the vet immediately. Finally have his enclosure setup correctly and realized the humidity wasn't high enough consistently which is how all of this started. Started out with an URI which led to him not eating. We are two weeks into the treatment for that with Fortaz injections and now the vet finds parasites. Seems like it's just one thing after the next but I love that little guy and have done all I can for him and will continue. I just want him healthy and happy

He's a recent picture image.jpg he will be 8 months old November 1st
