So I should cup feed everything? Inlcuding crickets? When I set up his new cage I have noticed people have a vine or branch coming accross the middle of the cage with no foliage around it , is this the best way to set it up? Right now the vines wrap around the plants so he always has some type of foliage around him except on the small part of fake branch I have that he basks on.

I cup feed because I want to make sure everyone eats.

you can set things loose in there, ya know like a few crickets, to give him sometihng to do.

but in general i recommend cup feeding in cages that big.

when i had a permanenet cup in their cages, i tied it to the side. so it was always in the same place.

now that i rotate the cup, i just look for where they are, and put the cup near by. they find it.

and the only bugs i dont cup feed are horns and silks.

crickets go in the cup. its deep enough they mostly cant get out. a few do, but then he enjoys hunting them down. ;)

How do you set up your cup? What's the best way to make one for easy removal and such ill get him into his new cage soon!

well when i rotate it, i just use a deep deli cup, and prop it up on some plants.

when it was permanenet, it wouldnt come out, i would just use a cup, catch my bugs, dust them, then dump them into the bin in the cage.

i used a plastic bin about the size of a shoe box.

200 questions is fine. what we are here for!

and let him eat as much as he wants.

i dont limit what my males eat.

Great thank you so much I hope he will start growing again! Should I still hold off cal with d3 and multivits for a month or so?

yes, let him detox. as long as he has a fresh UVb bulb, he will be just fine wout the d3 for a month or so.

and any natural sunlight you can get him will help too.

I was wanting to buy bigger plants for his cage but not spend a fortune , I have the typical home depot, lowes,Walmart etc, can I find good foliage there ? There is a nursery as well but I'm not sure how expensive it will be..

scheffelara are good and full plants.

i got two of them each about 3-4 feet tall, for 30 bucks each from my nursery.

it couldnt hurt to call your nursery and see what they have.

Actually i was wrong about the size of his cage its the medium reptibreeze not thr lsrge i have the 18x18x36 new for him to use I should still move him right!

As he recovers, its going to take some time.

When I got my panther glacier, he looked sorta gloom and doom.

drab coloring, motionless, not sleeping durignthe day, but just sorta blah.

he had a prolapsing problem and coccidia a parasite, that is hard to get rid of.

it took months fo rhim to finally color up to a bright blue. now, hes doing pretty good.

just keep trying bug juice. other bugs. etc. natural sun.

smallpetfeeders.com has hornworms and silkworms that he might like.

I may have already posted this on your thread, but have you tried a variety of stuff? In and out of the cup?

Honestly if I were you at this point I would have gotten a little bit of everything. I mean if your guy sees some small worms of all types, a few different size crickets, and maybe a small/medium roach if you can have it there. With all the different color of crawlies he's bound to eat something if he actually has eaten and wants to. And the size thing, maybe he'll take some tiny crickets and not larger ones?

Maybe he wants to hunt, maybe he will cup feed. Try and put some in both, it'll cost you some cash but I'd just do it at this point.

I mean think of the list of feeders and sizes, chime in if I missed any easy ones people.

Roaches
Crickets
Mantids
Butterworms
Silkworms
Hornworms
Mealworms
Superworms

Have you given him showers to let him drink a lot to try and flush that D3? And has he been outside at all? Make sure to give him that sun, sit him on a plant outside. (Watch him) lol!

It's going to cost you some cash to get the plants and feeders you need but thats part of the game my friend. I hope all is well with your little friend, keep us posted.

EDIT: Has the bug juice worked for you? Camimom has been on this thread with you the whole time, you should thank her lots and lots :)

He perks up when he goes outside its a wonderul sunny day and hes out there right now..how ong can he stay out there? He ate 2 crickets so far.. i ordered him some silk , pheonix and butterworms just to see if he likes them. Those are ok for him too right?

Those are great. the butters i would only do one or two a day though.

and as long as he doesnt get too hot, he can stay out til the sun goes down.

Thanks for the suggestions, he gets tons of water and I have small and medium crickets, he definitley prefers to hunt. He hasn't tried eating out of the cup, only things I ever saw him eat from cup were meal wroms. But he's not getting those again. I just notice him missing his prey a couple times before he gets them and one of his eyes is less bulgy then the other hopefully this will get better with everything im trying..i know about the money I've invested quite a bit already but I love him and I get a feeling of gratitude when my animals are happy and thriving.

This morning I saw a cricket in the cup that lookrd like it had been chomped and spit out.. I'm unsure if that was him! Ha, but my guess was it was him!

if he likes to hunt, let him hunt.what you can do is get a shorter cup.

put your bugs in, then put it near a stick they can slowly climb out.

this way they are less likely to jump and land on the bottom.

he can hunt them and be happy.

and natural sun will work wonders for him.

like i said, it takes time.. just breathe.. and deal with each issue as it comes..
