Sick Jackson chameleon

This is kind of under some weird circumstances but my male Jackson chameleon developed a clogged eye duct which has made his eye swell. The closest chameleon vet is over 5 hours from me and in a covid hotspot so I didn’t want to risk going and possibly bringing back covid to my family. So I took him to my closest reptile vet about an hour away and we went through multiple medications and treatments but they never worked. So my vet told me that as long as he’s still eating and drinking well he can still live a good life. So that’s what I’ve been doing for the past few months. He has some problems but overall eats well and drinks a lot. He’s been normally active and pretty much acts as a normal chameleon despite having a swollen eye. However tonight I found him upside down clinging to a branch and I didn’t even think he was alive. I got him down and he didn’t seem to want to open his eyes but was still responsive and he did end up opening his eyes a few times and followed my finger. Another thing is is that it’s near his bed time so I thought he could just be tired or in pain from his eye or both. He hasn’t eaten in a few days but that’s not that surprising to me because he’s done thing as a few times before. He drank a lot of water earlier today and was pretty active.
The reason why I’m making this is because I just want to make sure he’s not dying. I don’t know the signs of a dying chameleon but right now he’s a nice green color and he seems to be sleeping on his branch because I turned the lights off. I know this is kind of vague and I’ve left out some details but can anyone tell me if he’s going to pass away?
I’m really nervous

I wish I could tell you.
Were they not able or willing to flush out the ducts in his eye? Did you finish all the antibiotics as prescribed?
A picture of him might help along with the info in the message above.
