We have a female veiled and her eyes are sunk in and she's really weak. She was fine yesterday but today not so good. We gave her water and fruit with a syringe but unfortunetly don't have anymore pedialyte. I know it says dehydration all over the internet but any other advice would be greatly appreciated :/

Please fill this out so we can better help you. Pictures would be even more helpful.

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

Veiled, female, in our care for about 10 mths and maybe 1 to 2 years old. She was about 5 inches long when we got her and now she's about 10 inches. She is handled at least once every other day. She is fed gut loaded crickets every other day about 5 at a time. We use repcal every third or fourth feeding. There is a water fall fountain that she drinks out of and it is kept very clean. Electrolytes (exo terra) are put in the water but we just ran out and have to get more. Yes we see her drinking every once in a while. Her recent droppings were mostly brown with a little white and hard normal consistency. We bought her from a girl that didn't want her and she's been perfectly healthy until today. She is kept in a screen cage about 18" tall, 15" wide and 12" deep. We use a. 75 watt 120 volt UV bulb that's on for 12 hours per day. There are only fake plants and she is kept in a spare bedroom

You don't mist at all? Only the waterfall? Are her urates yellow? Do you have a laying bin for her-females will lay eggs without the presence of a male. What are your temps? DO you know for sure you have UVB bulb-and did you know you need to change those out every 6 months? What in the world are electrolytes that you add to water? Repcal should be used more than every 3-4th feeding. The cage you have her in is extremely too small.

She is misted every day. Yes its a UVB bulb and no we didn't know they need to be changed every 6 mths. We do not have a laying bin for her. The electolytes that go in the water are a vitamin D3 and electrolyte supplement. You add 2 drops for every ounce. The day time temps are 85-90 and night time is 70-75. Urates are yellowish sometimes and sometimes not.

Your night temps are high for a female. They should be 80 tops. Can you post a picture? Are her legs straight?

I can't post a pic. Her legs look normal. They're not straight. She had a good grip when she needed one but she is definitely more weak than normal.

Has she stopped eatng over the past couple of days or was she wandering around the bottom of the cage?

The last time we saw her eat was 3 days ago and yesterday she was wondering around the bottom of the cage. Today she was clinging to the waterfall. I can email you pictures if that works. The site won't let me upload them from my phone.

It sounds like you need to get a laying bucket in ASAP-they can die eggbound without the proper place to lay. Get a flower pot or bucket or even garbage can that is at least 10" deep and 10" around and fill with organic soil, or a mix of coconut fiber (the kind that comes in a brick and you soak in water) and play sand. It need to be moist enough to hold a tunnel.

I am happy to help. Her colors are very bad, suggesting she is near death. I think a vet is your only hope. I have a good one here in Clearwater that is not too expensive. Is she opening her eyes at all? When you feel her belly does it feel like a sack of marbles?
