sick chameleon

i have a nine month old panther chameleon. he is in a 46inch terrarium with screen walls and garden wire in over the little screen holes, he has a 100 heat bulb over a basking spot six inches under it he has plenty of leaves and branches running up the sides and the middle. i mist him 3-4 times a day and feed him 10 crickets in the morning. i have a humidifier in there all day

lately all he does is lay on one spot on his branch and his bars turn dark and his base skin is dark green, does this mean he is sick or stressed? or are panther chameleons just not always as bright as they look?

thanks keaton

Welcome Keaton

If you look in the forums tab then in health clinic there is a post on how to ask for help. It's a template you fill in that helps other forum members assist you with your particular problem.

Sometimes chams turn darker when they are trying to warm up under there basking lamps or in sunlight. Barkening colors can also be a sigh of stress.

What dose your chams poop look like. If the whitish part isn't a really nice white but brown or yellow its a sign of dehydration. You can also look at his casque. It should be nice and full not sunken in which is also a sign of dehydration

All my chams turn dark when basking in the morning. But being dark all day may be a sign that something is amiss
