Current Problem - She has been keeping her eyes closed and therefore not eating/drinking. Eyes are slightly sunken and she appears dehydrated. She acts as if she isn't feeling well. There is a noticeable difference in her attitude. She is still fairly active. She has been moving about her enclosure with her eyes closed but still moving.

While typing this up we tried to push liquids and noticed that she drank a good amount. since drinking she has been keeping her eyes open and keeping them open wider than what she had been.

This all has just started occurring yesterday. Prior to yesterday she was just fine. Her eyes were wide open, she was eating and drinking, and moving about the cage just fine.

We are not sure what's going on. We are wondering if it may just be dehydration but we've read other posts with similar issues that didn't end well. So we are a bit worried.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry to hear that your little one is not feeling well. Please post some pictures of her and her enclosure. Closing her eyes could mean allot of different things. She could have eye problems such as an infection. Also closing the eyes is a sign of an illness such as an infection in the mouth along with many other illnesses. Do you have a chameleon vet?

no we do not have a vet at the moment. I can't post pics right now however i will have pics up as soon as i possibly can. thank for replying.

also one other thing we've just noticed that seemed a bit odd. She had her mouth wide open and was turning her head back and forth. It lasted about fifteen to twenty seconds. We've never seen her do that before. Is this something that we may need to be concerned about

She seems weak and I know that she'd dehydrated. Been pushing water and yesterday she did drink a good amount but today we've been less successful. It appears that she hasn't eaten for at least three days now. She is at times alert and crawling around her enclosure in her normal manner but more often she is sitting still. She has seemed to notice the crickets that we've tried to feed her but she hasn't made any visible attempt to get one. She is still closing one or both of her eyes a majority of the time and sometimes when she does open them she does so only slightly. As said though, sometimes they are wide open and alert.

I'm not sure what is specifically is causing this. I know she is dehydrated but I am uncertain on whether or not that is the cause or a symptom of something bigger. I do not believe she has MBD as her casque and her legs are straight and warp-free.

Here are some pictures of her and her enclosure. I apologize for the poor quality of the photos but it is the best that can be done for now.

Again, any input or ideas on what may be the issue or how to help would be greatly appreciated.

The UBV light how far away is it from them? It looks far to me, I could be wrong on that since I am still very new to Chams.

Also Basking bulb? I know it aides in digestion but I did not see one.(actually the heat from it does)

I am sorry they are not doing well, so cute!
