Sigh..."tap water" use depends on what's IN IT. If your water is from a municipal source it may contain chloramines or chlorine treatment chemicals. It may contain fluoride. These can can cause trouble for herps. An occasional shower probably isn't a problem, but you should find out what your water utility puts into the water if you use it routinely for drinking in your cham's setup. You may need to remove the treatment chemicals with a product such as Repti-Safe. If you have your own private well and the water doesn't require treatment to be safe for human consumption it should be fine. It may be very hard (high in minerals such as calcium, iron, etc). You can test your own water with an aquarium water testing kit to find out, or ask your utility to test it.So i was thinking about giving my cham a shower but tap water comes from showers i thought tap water is bad?![]()
