I heard that I have to chage my UVB light every 6month mine is little older than that so should i cage my UVB light(bulb) it works great and light up like normal ones but the problem is my chameleon is not shedding normaly(like he doesnt shed for 3month and his shedding now but his shedding really slowly the 1/3 of his tail is done shedding but rest of his body doesnt even shed_)
or is it because it was bin cold ?

I'm not sure about the shedding thing. I will let a more experienced member answer that. I can tell you that, yes, you need to change your uvb bulb. The effectiveness is reduced by that time, even if it looks the same as it always has. You can't see uvb rays. So...just to be on the safe side, get him a new bulb. Hope you can figure out the shedding thing.

just because it is working and lights up does not mean it is putting out effective uvb rays anymore. The potency of the uvb dimishes over time. That is why you need to change it out.

how old is your chameleon?. When the reach adult hood they shed less and less and yes they will shed in body parts so it is perfectly normal for only the tail to shed by itself.

Change it...UVB bulbs wear out. After a certain amount of time, it's just a regular light bulb. No more UVB which means no more UVB for chameleon. So if I were you I'd replace it to be safe.

It is a necessary to change your uvb bulb, there are different recommendations according to manufacturer. When you buy a bulb write down the date and tape it to the fixture so you know when to replace in the future.

Apparently the Zoomed bulbs last for up to a year and the Exxo-terra bulbs are good for 5 to 6 months!!!
However, i would change UVB bulbs about a month or so before the recommended life expentancy!!

If you dont have a UV meter, I would just plan to change every 6 months just to be safe.

I have 4 chams, so it pays for me 2 have a Solormeter 6.5

thats new I should buy zoomed bulb XD
