Shooter ate a piece of dust

I was feeding Shooter his dinner of crickets tonight when one got out and onto our floor. I picked it up, not realizing a small clump of dust had gotten onto him (probably a little smaller than the cricket, which is about 1/2 an inch) and put him into the feeding cup. I realized it was on the cricket after I had gotten it into the cup, and before I could get it out, Shooter was at the cup eating. I was hoping he missed, but he didn't, so he ate the piece of dust :(

Has anyone else had something like this happen? I can't believe I allowed that to even get in there. I was just so frantic about the cricket being on the floor and keeping it in the cage that I just didn't even think about dust being on him, not to mention we keep our place very clean, so I didn't expect there to be dust. What should I do about this??

He'll probably be ok. I never feed a feeder to my chams that's been on the floor. I guess I'm just kinda funny about things but always afraid that it could have some cleaners or something on it that could hurt my chams. The little brown anoles outside get all the excaped feeders and they love it. :D

That makes me feel a little more at ease. I probably shouldn't have given it to him, but I freaked when I saw it got out and was on its way to the couch while I still had a cup of crickets in my hand. My first instinct was to get the cricket keeper tube, which had more crickets in it, into the cup so more don't escape and get this rascal into the feeder cup. I don't do well in panic situations. Once when I was making mashed potatoes, Sean's dog distracted me with his cuteness, I turned my back for 1 second and they boiled over. I stood there, arms down, hands open and completely stiff saying "oh no oh no oh no" rather than moving the pot. Genius... right??

Ummmm how late at night do you feed because its bad to feed before lights out due to them not having time to digest. I feed every day same time 9am.

I don't think the dust will bother him. It's not good to feed at night, they need heat to digest their food. If however, you've got a couple of hours till lights out, you're ok. You'll notice his poop will have half digested feeders if it's too late to feed. :)

You guys only feed your chams once a day?? We feed around 10 am then again around 730 pm usually with a small worm snack in between. His lights don't go out till 9 pm, they go on at 9 am. His poop is always perfect, as well as his urate. We don't feed him right before bed just like I don't feed myself right before bed haha.
