Shock from moving chameleons outside?

Hello,

I am planning on moving my veiled chameleon enclosure to my back porch this summer and am wondering if the intense summer sun and outdoor temperature swings would cause too much stress for the cham. I have a screened in porch where I could safely keep the enclosure for the entire duration of the summer. Of course I would keep up with proper hydration and misting. Any input is appreciated!

Where are you located and what would the temperatures reach in late afternoon and early morning? Late afternoon is when it gets the hottest, and early morning (maybe 4 or 5 a.m.) is when it gets the coldest, so you would need to know those temperatures and keep track of them so that your chameleon stays within a good temp range.

If you're going to keep the cage outside it should be screen and the chameleon should have lots of options to move out of the sun into the shade so it won't overheat.

I live in Cleveland so the weather is very bipolar ;). However, it’s usually in the 80s during the day in the summer and 70s at night.
