Does anybody know how a chameleon's sense of smell is?
Anybody know if there have been experiments done to determine this?

I read they have a poor sense of smell and are almost deaf

yes, all sounds are vibrations, and to hear - us humans have ear drums. chameleons do not have ear drums, so they can sense vibrations through the ground, and strong vibrations in the air. other than that they are deaf.
