Shipping???

I've been thinking about buying a chameleon and have heard not to get them from pet stores but rather private breeders. I am looking for any breeders that have veiled babies in MI. Also I was wondering I know chameleons are pretty sensitive and a lot of breeders ship but is that safe for the chameleon or is it likely to kill them???

If done properly, shipping is unlikely to kill a chameleon.

Reptiles should not be shipped if the reptile itself is sick, or if the temperature is too high or too cool, but a good breeder wouldn't do that.

I jus got a baby from Cali last week and he was fine. There was a breeder in michigan I was gonna get from one time I think it was cool critters by LJ? Anyone remember them?

Shipping in cold weather is always an issue, but much less so for people who know how to do it. I shipped 6 chameleons to Springfield, MO last week from Montana. They were in a properly insulated container with the necessary heat pack. All chameleons were & are fine. Our forum sponsors are all knowledgeable and can determine when is is safe to ship. You might want to look to them.
