Shipping Jackson's from Hawaii - anyone done it successfully?

Not sure I quite understand why they would want to make difficult the export from hawaii of an introduced species?
perhaps its prevent mass exports of other things labeled as jacksons?
somebody clue me in?
Australia is considering the export of cane toads to china! You beauty, take all you want!

Edit: Nevermind, Read Xanthoman's post! Informative. :)

i have checked out this happy tails place and nowhere on the site does it address the issue of whether the animals will be shipped on the same flight as the owner . / just to be clear, the terms of the permit require that the cham travel on the same flight as the permit holder / further who or why would some one pay $350 (presumably plus tax) for a jackson's (unless maybe it was already a personal pet that they couldnt part with .

This would only make it more attractive / lucrative for locals to farm them / harvest them. Trample the landscape, get bright ideals like introducing more non native species, etc, etc.. I think they had this problem before, when Jacksons where freely being shipped to the mainland (1993,94 I think). I once heard a story about a French man who was buying up montane species here in California, only to release on his land in Hawaii. Thinking that if Jackson could thrive, why not Malagasy Calumma.
