She's staying at the bottom of her cage :c

My female sambava panther chameleon has been staying at the bottom of her cage recently. She also hasn't been eating much. The temperatures are fine and she was happy and fine last week. Now, she stays at the bottom of her cage, not even on the branches. When I open her cage to mist her or water the plant, she turns black. She won't let me touch or hold her anymore. What should I do?

Its important that you give her a place in her cage to dig in case she is carrying eggs ASAP...minimum size of the opaque container should be 12" high by 8" x 12". Fill it 3/4 full with moistened washed playsand.

well hopefully shes going to lay a infertal (or fertal clutch, you havnt given details). can you see outlines of eggs? ususaly you can tell when there nice and full of em. if shes not carrying eggs then this is a medical issues, if shes getting ready to lay leaver her alone and dont go near her that offten, shes needs the right substrate for egg laying. she will start to dig tunnels. moniter her but dont touch her or get to close. she needs privacy and time. like i said if its a medical issue, being on the floor of the cage is an extreamly bad signe. we need more info from you.
