We got our Nosy Be x Ambilobe on Wednesday last week from a local breeder and he's been settling in over the last few days with me worrying over him like a new born baby! This morning he appeared out of his usual sleeping perch and I noticed a couple of white spots on his head and back, he seems pretty active so thought I'd just keep any eye on him. After about 15 mins of being out and about he made straight for the basking area and climbed up to be as close as he could get to the lamp. I then noticed the top of his head was now completely white and peeling! Ok so he's shedding! After a few minutes of basking he looked like this:
Now about a couple of hours later he has pretty much shed all his skin and we can see already the fresh skin looks a little more colourful. He was freaking out , stretching, gaping and climbing all over the place but is pretty settled again now.
Only 4 days in and already feel like we've learnt so much! (and thanks to this forum for all the useful input from other owners)
