Please help. The last time my chameleon shed not all of the shed came off. There are pieces on his elbows and top of his tail and I didnt think much about it. Well its been about 2 or 3 weeks and it has not came off so I went and bought Zilla Tropical mist Humidifying Spray it has aloe and vit B1.(he hates it) so Ive been spraying it in is cage and on him for about a week. Well today I got him out of his cage and notice that a big hunk of his tail was gone where the shed did not come off on the top of his tail and you could see pink skin. Should I have been soaking him or what should I do. I thought that I was keeping the humidity right in his cage around 50%. Does anybody have any suggestion.

How often are you misting and for how long? Can you post pictures of his tail? He may need to go to the vets.

I am a stay at home mom so I mist alot probably to much if there is such a thing and my camera sucks so Ill try to take a pic but im not sure how good it will turn out. I honestly dont think its bad enough to take to a vet. Do you know anything about the spray that im using or anything about maybe soaking him. I dont know it probably might stress him out. Any suggestions

I know nothing about the spray you are using and would never recommend it. Normally if the humidity is up and you are doing some nice warm mistings there's so problems.

If there's a chunk of his tail missing, I'd think that a vet visit is in order especially if it's getting worst. Pics would help.

I have some rough plastic plants in the corner or my enclosure. When my cham sheds she usually rubs her face and body up on the sides of it to help pull off the skin. It may help if you add in something like that.

i do have some dense rough sturdy plants in his cage but he seems to not even know they are there. the spots are very small and i dont belive he can feel them. its only beem like 2 days sice he shed so ill just wait it out i guess... thanks tho

Never pull or rub at their skin, it could pull off their existing normal skin.

My feeling is stuck shed should be ignored. The only exception is if it completely circles a limb or the tail. That could cause problems for a growing chameleon. Otherwise, it will most likely come off with the next shed.
