Shedding Questions

Hello!
First off, I am so happy to find this forum! Alot of great info on here!

I noticed my lil girl, Hortense, is starting to shed. I noticed it last night, and Its only around her knees at this point. She is roughly 2 months old.

Hortense is my first chameleon, and I have been reading and reading on all the things that she needs. I think shes doing pretty good so far. I love her!
I have a few questions,

Will the shedding affect her behavior? Eating habits? Drinking?
Make her uncomfortable?
Or do you all have any tips on shedding?

Also, I notice she tends to sometimes stay a dark earth tone color in her cage. I have a pretty good cage set up with live plants and fresh running water - full spectrum lighting, diet of small crickets and waxworms - I check the temps - Shes pretty set. I read that a chameleon can stay darker colors until about 6 months old when their color fully develops - so I was hoping this is why, and that she isn't unhappy with something in her cage.
Perhaps she was darker because she was getting ready to shed?

I could just be being a worry wort, but I am really concerned in giving her the best care! Thanks! :)

my male veiled just shed. He was darker too before he shed. Just make sure the humidity is up so the skin falls off easier.

Welcome to the forum.

In the first pic your little one looks a little dark but the second one looks completely normal. Shedding is pretty individual to the cham, just give you cham a few days. Keep her misted really well, and watch to make sure she sheds completely. Some of mine take a week to fully shed, other take a day or two.

In theory a cham is said to loose all its shed within 24 hours but in practicals its different. Keep the humidity up!!! Doesnt seen like there is a problem and shedding duration is up to the individual cham

just spray the cage a little more to keep humidity up so it is easyer for it to fall off!:)

My chams will throw a complete shed in around 4-6 hours, I do keep the humidity at a constant 65%, which does help. The last areas to shed are usually the feet and tail. I would add another misting or two to your existing cycle to aid in the sheds.
