i have a small baby veiled that i was misting 2-3x a day for 30 seconds.....well for the past three weeks ive upped my misting to 1-5 minutes 2-4x a day he shedded most everything off....he still has a patch on his head and patches on his upper sides for the past three weeks....my humidity stays at basically 35% and below i added a few weeks ago to pothos plants to his enclosure......can anyone help me?? maybe its my shitty tap water idk....

hes small prehaps the size of a lighter(without the tail) and gets fed daily maybe missing a day or two a week.....but according to the pet store hes almost 6 months he must have some bad genes lol

You mist that much and your humidity is staying only at 35%? Are you using a digital hygrometer or one of those dial ones?

im using a digital one .....i also have the heat vent near his cage closed off.....our humidistat on our heater is broken so the process of getting that fixed is soon to never.... his humidity goes up but drops in 1-2 hours

Hi,

your humidity sounds normal for this time of year for you.

there are a few things you can do.

1) add more plants
2) buy a cool mist room humidifier
3) mist 1 or 2 extra times a day
4) add a dripper every day
5) combo of a few of the above, or all of the above

as for the shedding, mist alot for the next few days.
all will be well.
