Shedding often?

I have a male veiled chameleon that's about 8 months old, I've had him since September. I hold him almost every day and feed him 5 or more crickets or mealworms every day. He has a fairly large terrarium and I have a decent mister for it (a big bottle that you pump for pressure and then hold down the trigger for a constant spray). He's pretty active and has healthy poos.

My problem is...how can I tell if he is shedding excessively? How often are they supposed to shed? He has shed three times (or more? not sure) since the year started and it's weirding me out. What could cause him to be shedding so much?

Any advice would be really really helpful! Thank you in advance.

I don't know if there is such a thing as "excessive shedding". Young chameleons will shed up to once a month. At your chameleons age once every two months is probably the norm. So your chameleon seems to be right on track. Don't let it weird you out, they are just growing.

Oh! Okay! I just wasn't entirely sure if he should be shedding as much as he is. I was worried that maybe his cage was too dry or his basking lamps were too hot. Thank you!
