She told me it's time.

I have 3 ferrets, Taz, Sassy, and Roxy. They are all sisters and are 8 years old. Unfortunately, Sassy has been sick for a while now. Over the past month, she has lost all of her hair, and it seems she has a massive hairball which won't move. She has trouble breathing and has lost a lot of weight. She has always been very active and happy. One of her favorite things to do was to scurry up my shirt to my shoulder and "help" fill their food bin. She usually stole a piece of food, and then would try to scurry back down to get to the floor to run and play. Well, today, she got comfy on my shoulder and just sat there with her head down and squeaked. (She doesn't squeak. My other ferrets do, but not her. Ever.) She didn't try to get down to play. She just sat there on my shoulder. That's not her. And up until now, she has been happy, and acting normal. But that was her way of letting me know that it's time. So I have an appointment with a vet at 12:30 today to end her suffering and allow her to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Please say a prayer for her.

I am so sorry. May her crossing be gentle and painless. I wish you peace and comfort. That hurts my heart.

Thank you all. When I got her to the vet, we discovered that she had a tummy full of tumors! It more than likely started as an adrenal gland tumor, then spread to her spleen and , I suspect, her lungs. The vet said she didn't have a chance. My poor little girl. I was truly shocked. I had no idea they were there. This all happened within about a month's time. So it was a very aggressive cancer. Cancer sucks!! Everyone's thoughtful words are comforting, though. Thank you, all.

Oh my, poor baby :( I have lost an animal to cancer. It is an indescribable pain to know they were suffering. My thoughts are with you!
