sexing pygmies

Hi all!

At what age can pigmy chams be sexed? I sometimes see pygmies with only a couple of months and by the length of their tails they seem clearly males or females... am I wrong?

Depends how good you are!! I've done the last few out of the egg! (And so far been about 90% correct)

At a couple of months its pretty obvious based on the tail length. I even see some male striping on my brevs at a real early age. Not sure out of the egg havn't gotten that far.

Under normal circumstances you can tell this way, but there are always exceptions to the rule. I have had "males" that turn out to be females with an extra long tail. I would say that you can pretty much tell, just don't guarantee it to anyone.
