Sexing and Age Help

Hey guys, so I recently bought a veiled cham from Petsmart (Black Friday weekend). I am new to owning exotic pets and need a little help. I have been doing a ton of research and reading on chameleons and I'm not sure if I was told correct information when I bought him. I was told he was an adult and male, but I'm starting to second guess that. I would love if someone could help me sex him and age him. This would help making sure I'm taking care of him properly. I appreciate any feedback!

Thanks Guys!

You got a female from what I can see, and I would guess her to be between 5-6 months old so you should make sure she has a laying ben in her cage.

So could she have become impregnated before I bought her, because with me she has not been in contact with any other chameleons. Omg, now I'm freaking that I'm going to end up with about 20-30 baby chams!!

I suppose it's possible, but seeing how most veiled are captive bred it's probably not likely. However you will still need to get a laying ben in there because she will lay eggs even if she hasn't been bred. Good luck:)

Dude....i got a 5-6 month old female veiled from PetSmart on Black Friday too... they even have the same coloration....maybe they're sisters...

I no longer have a veiled I now have Jacksons, and they give live berth. However how many eggs they have has nothing to do with whether they are fertile. And they can lay up to 80 eggs. My one female I had 72 fertile eggs. I have sense learned that by lowering their temps, and their food intake it will decrease that amount. Which is something you'll want to consider because it will extend their life span.
