Setup Suggestions/Critique!

Finally, here's my setup for a four month old nosy be! Let me know if anyone has suggestions or sees anything off please.

What you're looking at is an 18x18x36 reptibreeze. On top is a 12% Arcadia and a 5000k bulb for plant growth. Two 60W bulbs provide basking spots, one up top at about 83° and another on the side at about 80°. Ambient temp is about 68°. Cool mist humidifier on the side is going to be connected to the cage via pvc pipe. Trash bag will go on back to keep humidity up. Will be misting heavily in morning and night with drip throughout afternoon. Plants are both umbrella, soil covered with rocks.

Thanks!

Also, I was planning on putting a small heating pad under the cage at night since my room can get down to about 55°. Any better suggestions for night heat?

all looks very natural to me aside from the fact that the plants are still in pots and you have ZERO bedding in the bottom (do i see reptile carpet?). imagine yourself as the cham. how would you want your tank to feel and look? would you want your plants to still be in pots? would you like some nice bedding? btw heat mat sounds like a good idea!

You're trolling me, right? Haha if I were a cham yea I guess I may like more realistic trees but I also would not want to choke and die on dirt chunks. :/

Looks good to me. Definatlely keep up the bedding, chams don't travel on the ground much at all. It will just stay wet end up moldy. From my knowledge you should try and keep your cage dry at night. If humidity drops too low I would just use the humidifier .I wish I could find an umbrella plant that big...... Good job I'm sure he will be happy in there. Drainage?

Thanks -going to play it by ear on drainage. I think a good bit will be absorbed by the plants, which are resting on trays I can empty. If it gets real wet I'll drill some holes into the bottom.

For mine I cut a small hole in the middle of the bottom and hit glued some very fine screen on the bottom and placed rocks over it. And if your cage isn't completely level you can put small rocks in the bottom corners, wedged underneath the PVC board to angle the flow of the water towards the middle. It works pretty well for me just some more thought

Ah, good call on both ideas!

update

A little update on the final form of the cage before the guy arrives - humidifier is now connected, there's an orchid for some color, and got some metal wire to attach log to screen for 2nd basking spot.

Yes, this member is trolling you. Well...we can only hope that this member is trolling you.

Looks great! I love the added color :)

I'd use a small space heater instead. That's what I do anyway.

I considered that, but I'm a little concerned about electricity usage... I live in Manhattan and it is not a cheap bill to pay each month. Is it a guzzler?

I have no idea lol I don't pay much attention. My electric bill doesn't seem significantly higher.

No offense, but you should not be giving out advice unless you know what you're talking about.
