Setting up my drippers

Hi all, I have just purchased 2 Zoo Med little drippers for my Cham's. They get regular spray/mists however I feel more at ease if they have a second water source.

I have 2 vivs. The first is a Repti-Breeze and the second is a wooden viv with a glass front.

The issue I have with the dripper on the reptibreeze is that it is creating a pool on top of the screen. I know raising the dripper will prevent this but I am not sure of a tidy way to do this (otherwise the fiancee will moan - women!)

I am reluctant to make a hole in the screen too.

The wooden viv I was thinking of maybe screwing a shelf or bracket in that will support the dripper. Again I am reluctant to make a hole in the top.

Can anyone advise with this? I am not the most imaginative person in the world. Surely you fellow Cham owners must have some cool methods to share.

Thanks in advance!

You don't need to make a hole! Take the tube off if you are using it. That definitely causes the water to pool and directs the water where you don't want it to go! I found this out after months of frustration! If you were using the tube, then do that. Start dripping the water out of the little spicket and position the dripper where you want it to land. If if it doesn't start dripping right through the screen, then stick your finger on top of where you start dripping the water and tap the screen. It should fall directly in the spot where you want it to go. Or you can go inside the cage under the screen instead of on top and tap your finger where the water is dripping if it has not started to drip through. Sometimes it will not drip instantly and you have to tap the screen to get the water going. Hope this helps!

Ah I see. So once it drips once it continues to flow? Never thought of that. Will give it a try.

Does it ever stop dripping and continute to pool? This would be my only concern, especially as my UV tube lies on the top of the screen too!

Really struggling for a solution for the wooden viv.

Any wooden viv owners out there using drippers?

I had the same problem with it pooling and then I went and did this and viola! no more problem. Once it starts to drip it just keeps at it and stops pooling.

Excellent - I can confirm my dripper is dripping through the screen. Thanks folks.

It's looking like some sort of shelf within my wooden viv for my dripper to sit on with the tap hanging off the side.
