I just bought a new male panther and I was wondering if I got the cage set up correctly. Please feel free for comments and opinions, anything that might help. I had a female and she didn't make it, so i'm trying again. He's going to be about 3-4 months old and once he gets up too 6 months, i'll put him in an all screen cage I have that is 24x24x36. I'll keep the temps 90 at basking and 75 at floor level. Also, I was wondering how often I should dust crickets. I have Rep- Cal with D3 Calcium and also the Rep-Cal vitamin.

hi chuck and welcome to forums!!! the 500 watt - what is that exactly?. Most of us use plain old ordinary white housebulbs for basking. a 60 watter should do. I know it has a control switch, and 90 is fine for basking, but does it give off light, in addition to heat? If not, you are not going to want to use that. You need three supplements to dust with. A calcium witn no d3 at every feeding, calcium with d3 a couple times a month and use the multivitamin a few times a month also. I would not use any substrate. It is gonna get wet and soggy. Bare is best and is sanitary and easy way to clean up poop and stuff. Any other questions, please feel free to ask away. We have alot of great members on here who are always willing to help.
