September 27th (SUNDAY!) South Bay Chameleon Keepers Meeting

Howdy All,

New time and location for the September meeting!

Sunday 09/27/09 at 3:00pm-5:00pm+ (Food, fun, lecture [can’t all be fun] and bugs!)

Dave Weldon will present another slide lecture created by Dr. Baines. This time it will be on “Photo-kerato-conjunctivitis in Reptiles”.

Summoner12 (Kevin) will be doing his Silkworm, Hornworm etc. and LLL Reptile run so take advantage of his spreadsheet ordering method.
SSimsswiSS will be doing his cricket and gutload orders as usual.

*******Another reminder: If you plan on taking part in Kevin’s (Summoner12) insect feeder ordering and sometimes his LLLReptile supply ordering and are not already receiving this msg via Gmail, please send a quickie “Join” email to the [email protected] site so that you will receive his Excel spreadsheet order sheet as well as instructions when it becomes available later in the next day or two.*******

This month, Elisa (Chamelisa) won the contest and will have the September meeting at her home!

To offer Elisa a little bit of privacy (not blasting it out to the entire world to forever be found here), please RSVP to the [email protected] site and you’ll get a reply within a day containing Elisa’s meeting address in Woodland Hills, CA.

There will be some food and beverages but SBCK management reminds members that it is okay to bring dessert and/or hors' dourves to share :).

The "South Bay Chameleon Keepers" (SBCK) meetings are held once a month. These free-of-charge meetings are pretty much free-flowing, with all chameleon topics open for discussion. "Show and Tell" discussions are common. We continue to experiment with group bulk-buys (silkworms, hornworms, superworms, crickets, dubias etc.) at our meetings. Some members may be taking pre-orders or bringing these feeders to sell but that's not guaranteed. Let us know if you are looking for these feeders (or anything else) and we'll try to confirm availability (pre-ordering) before the meeting. Some keepers bring their chameleon books and magazines along with other various items to spark discussions.

Not only is this the way to get an address for the meeting but it will help us determine the size of meeting to prepare for, so RSVP with an email to: [email protected]!

On your way and got lost? For this meeting, call Dave Weldon on his cell phone 310-600-4793.

Our group ranges from long-time breeders to novice keepers. Lately, there have been 25+ members attending. There are usually new members at every meeting.

See You There,

SBCK

(NOTE)
The www.chameleonforums.com has added a "Social Group" area that our SBCK members can associate themselves to by requesting an "Invite" (https://www.chameleonforums.com/groups/south-bay-chameleon-keepers.html). Our purpose for having the SBCK Group area on this Forum is to help SBCK members keep track of who & how to contact other SBCK members. The term "Member" is used loosely to mean anyone who attends the free meetings. If you have no intention of ever attending any of the face-to-face meetings there is no benefit to being part of the group and you will likely not be "Added" or kept in this Social Group list . This SBCK group area is not intended to replace the main forum. Use the regular Forum area for all posts. Use the SBCK group area as a means of locating other SBCK members to send PMs etc. Continue to use the latest monthly "Meeting Invite" posting as a place to post to the SBCK members that are also "ChameleonForums" members. There are still a few SBCK members that are not yet Forum members but continue to receive their notices via the [email protected] emails. It also appears, for the moment, that Junior Member status on the ChameleonForums does not yet have enough "Permission Level" to join a Social Group.

Silver Sulfadiazine cream

Hi Everybody,
I bought a 400 gram size jar and thought we could divide it up into smaller jars so everyone could have one for their emergency kits. It works great on burns and wounds. Kills fungus and bacteria. Everybody needs to have some around for emergencies. If people are interested I'll look for some small jars maybe 1oz.
Looking forward to the meeting, it's great talking to chameleon people!

Howdy SBCK Members,

The order sheet has been sent! If you are going to come to the meetings and are not yet on the southbaychameleonkeepers@gmail list, toss a quickie "add me" email to there and you'll be added. The spreadsheet will then be sent to you within a day.

You got it. Making gutload tomorrow. 3rd meeting / 3rd local This one is practically in your backyard, albeit one valley over. Did you ever get final answer on the sex of your Nosy Faly?

Howdy,

The current RSVP head count is around 20 people. We always get fewer for weekend meetings. I think our highest count for the usual Tuesday night meeting was about 27. I think anything over a dozen is a good weekend number :).
