Senegals

I've been looking into Senegals for a while, and was wondering how they are as pets? I've read the Chameleon News article about them, and was interested in what she had to say...

How are they temperament-wise?

Are they stressed easily?

What is your enclosure like?

What is your overall opinion of them?

CB senegals or even decent WCs seem impossible to find, so i'm just gonna wait until i come across one that's in decent shape. They all look stressed and dehydrated...where did you come across yours?

Senegals are fairly mild mannered. There not super active. Stress level all depend on the individual. Im working with 2.2. At first 3 were shy and one was bitey. As there health improved 3 became bitey 1 mellow. I wouldnt recommend handleing them. Each lizard lives in its own 16''x30" screen cage. Each cage has 2 potted dracena plantsand sticks through out the cages. I was keeping them indoors when it was still chilly. I was using 10.0 reptisuns and 75watt house bulb for basking. Basking temps around 80-90 degrees. Humidity around 50% and up. I hand mist each cage twice a day on average for abot 5-10 for each cage. They drink just fine from leaves. I feed them crix and supers everyother day. They are a very cool underrated chameleon in my opinion. Not to many people give them a chance. You are not going to find any cb only wc. If you have worked with wc chams before and understand there problems then you should be fine. I bought mine on Kingsnake.com. 2.2 for $95 shipped! Itwas a gamble but totally worth it.

Well im a huge fan of Chamaeleo so I choose senegals. Never worked with carpets. I live in hot south FL so the senegals do better for my situation.
