Senegal not green anymore.

My senegal stopped being green after about two months, is this normal? He's always a light green/yellow now. He's rarely using his stress stripes and spots but is it normal?

Everyone I've met has told me it is. The store (even though they were all dumbasses in the care of chameleons... had them in a FISH TANK that was about a foot high), they didn't know his age and I got him in my care seven months ago. He's about four inches long not including tail length.

Did they appear?

Think you've got yourself a yellow Senegal! Looks great. I miss my fella' :(

If he isn't showing his stress stripes/spots, then he's probably very used to you and trusts you, mine very rarely showed me anything bar full green/bright green. Senegals are just really friendly/docile Chameleons I reckon, it's a big shame they can't be bred easily.

My female Senegal Chameleons would turn a banana yellow when they were receptive. How about a tail shot so we can determine what sex you have.

The other thing that concerns me is the lack of temperature gradient within your cage. A five degree difference does not allow your chameleon any options to escape the heat. S/he just may be overheated and their colours do pale out when so.

I can't upload a pic yet, but can you explain the differences in tails to me? I heard it has to do with the tail base, broader I heard. What exactly does that mean? Thicker where the tail starts?

If Senegal's are like Panthers (I never knew how to sex with mine, shop owners told me he was male and he was) they should have a small bulge just behind the bum. Take a photo from the side of his tail base so we can see half his tail/back legs and post it up and we'll help.
