Shipping is very safe if you overnight priority with FedEx as long as they are properly packed and the temperatures are warm enough. Heck, I get day-old chicks mailed to me. I don't know about Canada, but I can't think FedEx would be any different in the US.

I've never heard of healthy, well packed captive hatched babies dying in shipment. It happens, but it is quite rare. Most deaths are because of improper packing--usually too much heat added.
