Seek AI Failure

So I use an app called Seek by iNaturalist, basically an AI plant/animal identification tool. Tried one of my baby panthers, and this happened:

Granted, it wasn’t the best photo for an id, but still… what even is a hag moth?

I agree—better (or zoomed) photo might have produced better results. I can kind of see why the error may have happened—comparing the silhouettes of each.
I can see too, also using an old photo (what I did) is less accurate than getting all angles in AR mode. Thanks for the link, seeing other images, the larvae do look similar to the pic.
 
Oddly (or not), I've lived in the Northeast/Great Lakes/New England all my life, and I've never seen one.
(Or maybe I just didn't recognize it as a moth larva... 🤷‍♂️ )
