Screen Door?

Is it ok to keep my little guy right in front of the screen door? I mean I guess it's ok but will he benifit from being in front of the screen door more than he would under his UVB bulb? He doesn't seem to really like the sun too much, I guess when he gets older he'll enjoy it more.

It would depend on how much time during each day he could get sun exposure and how much of the time the temps are OK for him (too cold in winter, too hot in summer, too cloudy...). If the screen door only gets an hour of sun a day and at an angle (not direct) you may need to add a UV light for some amount of time. Hard to say not knowing more.

He may not "like the sun" because he may feel overly exposed to view in his cage. If he has a lot of foliage but still able to bask when he wants to he may feel better about it. I like to create a place in my cages where they can perch in the center of a bushy plant but be exposed to the basking light directly from above. Picture a small patio open to the sun but with privacy walls on all sides. They can move out of the direct path of the bulb into the surrounding foliage when they want.
