Has anybody ever used a screen cage for a female veiled? I have a modified bird cage done in screen, but I'm wondering is it hard to keep it humid inside? Any suggestions that would help keep the humidity up?

Most of us on the forums use and recommend screen cages for all of our chams, panther and veiled especially. I used them for my veilds. I simply wrapped three sides in a shower curtain to help retain moisture. Also, live plants will help retain humidity. If you have live plants and mist 4-5 times a day (depending on your RH) you should be fine. My humidity would get down to about 35% and jump to about 85% after misting. It would then slowly drop back down to 35% by the time the cage was misted again.

screen cages are the norm and what is highly suggested for chams to allow air flow so that they do not get respiratory infections and such.
Good ways to help with humidity is live plants, misting of the plants 2-3 times a day for a few minutes at a time
Or if you want to spend the money you can get a rain dome from aquazamp which along with the mistking are 2 of the most used misting systems I have found on this forum.
Regular mistings are the key to a perfect humidity and health of your cham

Thanks all that info was great! I knew screen cages were recommended I was really looking for how to keep the humidity up if you have one.
