Screen cage with thick mesh. UV issue?

bought a new mesh cage, on this one i notice the mesh a little thicker than my exo-terra one and it is a very dark mesh. I use a 5.0 uvb bulb. But i was wondering if the mesh is too thick for the uv rays to get throught? this is worrying me because my cham has been going to bed about 2 hours before the lights are shutting off, and i know chams going to bed early can be a sign of illness? Also, i have a 10.0, it has never been used but i have had it for about a year and a half. Will it still emit the proper uv? One more thing, spring is ending and the days are getting longer here in canada, can this affect the time he sleeps? the abnormal sleeping has just started this week.
Thanks :)

Is this the type of cage that has the net 'bag' over PVC pipes and you use a zipper to open and close the enclosure?

If so, yes, it will block a significant amount of UVB. The inside will be darker than a normal screen cage. I'd use a 10.0 UVB lamp for sure and place the basking lamp within 8-10".
