scratching back feet

Kiwi is my first chameleon. He's about 3-4 months old, veiled. About a week ago I upgraded his cage to the DragonStrand Atrium- love it!

Since spreading out in his new larger cage he has started a new behavior. While he's doing the back and forth "leaf dance" a lot of times he will also scratch his back legs back and forth on the branches? What is this? It almost seems like a "marking" behavior or I was wondering if it's simply foot care? Just curious. He is perfectly healthy and doing great, I just haven't seen this before.

Is he shedding on his feet?

Unless there are other problems I would think this is just a variation of the blowing leaf walk. Check the feet and especially the nails for signs of damage/inflammation. If nothing then continue to monitor.

When my guy shedded the other day, he was scratching like a dog and rubbing his body on everything until it fell off. It was pretty cool. He was all over the cage.
