Scindapsus plant

What the score with Scindapsus plant, the lady in the garden store looked it up and said it was the same as what I printed off from the plant database here, devils Ivy, but she said it is harmful for pets if eaten?

On the spca list of toxic plants it lists devils ivy as "Epipremnum aureum" on the toxic list

Blue Beast Reptile states this

It's best to be certain as to the type of plant you purchase. Wallmart and sometimes homedepot type stores mislable plants.

I do know that many people use pathos in there enclosures.

Hope this helps a little. I am not sure what plant you were actually going to purchase and it seems neither did you. I would play it safe and pass.

can you please post a pik of your plant? (if you already have one) it will help some of us green thumbs to identify it. either it will be pothos or philodendron. the latter is very posionus and should not be used with a chameleon. they can be very pretty, often with red tendrils, but are deadly if ingested...
pothos are also on the toxic plant list but are used in chameleon cages with no ill effects as far as i know. my cham seems only to be interested in eating the ficus! lol

it is poisonous when eaten in a large quantities.
My chameleon seems to ignore pothos completely.
He only eat his hibiscus.

The Pothos is fine.

I would remove the croton though... Croton contains croton oil which is a powerful purgative (laxative) and can cause gastro-intestinal problems if ingested.

Thanks, in the plant database it says croton is ok unless eaten regularly?

I know.
And a lot of people use them and have no problems ... I choose not to include them in a veiled environment.
