Scary black patch

Hey all!

I'm a noobie here and hoping you guys can give some advice...we have an Ambilobe panther chameleon named Archimedes that just turned one. About a month ago we noticed a pretty big black patch on his belly area. Thanks to some help from the internet, we thought it might be a burn or a bruise but after keeping a close eye on it, there hasn't been much change size or shape-wise, so we've ruled that out.

It doesn't seem to be painful to him and his behavior is pretty much completely normal (activity levels, eating, drinking, normal poop, etc). After scouring the internet some more this weekend we thought it might be a fungal infection, but we're still not sure. We might try some topical antifungal cream.

We also called an exotic animal vet near where we live and they said they can't determine anything til we bring him in. What do you all think? I've attached a picture so you all can take a look. Should we take him to the vet?

Here's this extra info:

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Panther, male, one year old
Handling - 2-3 times a week
Feeding - Feed 1 or 2 times a day with mainly superworms (they're his favorite) and crickets. All food is gutloaded.
Supplements - Repashy calcium, dusted about 2 times a week
Watering - Dripper, he drinks about 3 times a day. We mist the cage about 4 times a day and the humidity stays above 70.
Fecal Description - Brown and moist with urate. Never been tested for parasites. Looks completely normal.
History - Recently changed him over to a much bigger, better cage with more plants and climbing areas about 3 months ago. He's much more active because of it.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Screen. I'm not sure on the dimensions...probably a few feet width and length? It's pretty big.
Lighting - 12 hours on, 12 hours off with UVB. Red heat lamp at night and regular heat lamp during the day. He has a nice basking area about 6 inches below heat lamp.
Temperature - The cage is pretty tall, so it gets about 80-90 degrees in his basking area and 70 (room temp) towards the bottom. Lowest night temp is probably 60-65. We have a thermometer in there towards the top.
Humidity - When we mist, it gets up to 90% humidity. We have a humidity gauge and it rarely gets below 50%.
Plants - Pothos, umbrella, a small palm we got at Ikea.
Placement - It's about a foot and a half off the floor kitty-corner to a window. All air vents in the room are closed so it stays warm.
Location - Utah

Thank you!

Can't see the picture!

My chameleon had a black spot under his neck once. I thought it was something bad, but my vet said it was pigment. Check out with a vet, just in case.

Looks like a bruise or could be a burn also. Does he like to hang upside down under the basking light?
