is it normal for a veiled to dig her hole and stay inside the hole head first for any amount of time with out digging?

You're probably just worrying too much
. But don't worry I'd be doing the same. I'm sure your aware she's digging because she's going to lay...And for her to stay in there and stop digging she's either:
taking a breather
she saw you peeking and wants you to go away

ya theres no way she saw. my peek hole is sneeky. plus it was only the tip of her tail sticking out of the hole. but she didnt look like she was moving at all. she might be taking a breather, thanks I guess I am just worring too much. She has been digging that hole for 3 days now, I think todays the day.

And never underestimate the sneakyness. Chams can detect things even if you think there is now way possible.
Prime example- yesterday I was trying to take a pic of my Veiled shooting a cricket, he hates the camera with a passion by the way, so I left nothing but his cage lights on and left my room completely dark. Half of the camera was hidden with only the lense poking out from behind a blanket and he still saw it. Started puffing up like a puffer fish lol. And it wasn't like I was real close either...I was at least 8ft a way.
So yeah, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE SNEAKYNESS

wow eh lol. i think she new i was there still fat and dirty im going to leave her all day. today i only peeked that once to see if she was ok but today not a once she will have no peekers i dont want no problems with her so hopefully tonight she will be done im choked i got caught the only time i looked but im sure she will be fine if left alone. i have her cage covererd completely except the top wich is a foot or two from my ceiling

The whole process can take up to 72 hours..
She will dig .. rest (in the hole) dig some more.. rest.. maybe climb up into her plant to rest.. climb down dig some more.. then oops I don't like this hole I am going to dig another one...
Its all normal. You just don't want to bother her during this time.

Thanks for the advice. We made a point to enjoy the nice weather today and we were out all day just to give her the privacy she needs. She even has all her enclosure covered except for the top. We were only home to feed amd mist everyone a few times and returned in time for lights out, We are giving it a dew minutes for everyone to fall asleep before we check for eggs. 45 mins to be exact so far
but if there are no eggs we will be doing all this again tomorrow. hopefully there are eggs in there tonigh But really thanks everyone. I have just been a worried grandma here. hoping for no problems. so we will give her all the space needed.

I just opened her enclosure and she is not in the hole that shes been digging for the last 2 days. she is in the hibiscus plant sleeping in her hole. so I am thinking we got caught the other day peeking she abandoned the hole and started a new one. so we are going to be out all day tomorrow again and leave her at her thing. and hopefully tomorrow should be the day she lays under her hibiscus.
She should be okay in the hole to sleep right???
