Scale recommendations?

Hello all! I've decided to buy a scale and was wondering what you guys recommend. I did a search but the results didn't hold a whole lot of info. I want it to go down to either .1 g or .01 g and be big enough to fit an 11-13 inch guinea pig on it (so it also needs to be able to weight about pound of fluffy rodent, I have no idea what that is in grams.) I also don't want to be spending like 200 for it so don't suggest one of the really fancy ones. A good working simple scale is all I need.

Thanks!

Syn: my only concern for the first link is the size. About how big does that look to you? I can use a bowl to hold the guinea pig but it still has to be big enough that they won't tip the bowl too much.

Well, in the pic is a 179g leachianus gecko. I've never owned one but my 40g crested geckos are about 6 inches in length.
If you have a way of stabilizing a larger bowl, even a tall tupperware container, I've even seen people tape large bowls onto them and weighing larger things.

ah... *sniff... sniff* i see.:D JK!

yeah i can see them as useful in weighing babies and other smaller lizards. goodluck with the hunt!

Exactly! The guinea pigs are the biggest thing I'm weighing. I want to get some smaller lizards in the near future so I figured I'd just go with .1 g just in case.

Second the myweigh. I own one (not sure which model). Also if it breaks for whatever reason, you just send it back to them for a replacement/fix. Believe it's lifetime.

I comes down to just how exact you need the measurement to be. No reason to spend a lot of money, imo. I bought a simple inexpensive kitchen scale, at a department store, for well under $30. Measures down to tenths of a gram with good acuracy, and up to a few kg . It reads out in oz g kg lbs, has a tar/zero out button, all the stuff Im likely to need.
Head shops also carry good scales.
