Saline solutions for eyes

i went out today and purchased a generic saline solution that doesn't contain thimerosal or chlorhexidine. I saw someone recommended it for an infected chameleon eye to help flush it out. I just want to be 100% sure that's it's safe.

If the cham has eye infection, then it will need the antibiotic drops.
Saline solutions its better than the water since they acting like the tears and its less irritated with just plain water,it all depending on what is the infection on the cham's eye,but usually its ok for a drop or two.

Already did antibiotic drops and nothing changed. Hoping this stuff works so it breaks down whatever is in there

This could be a) the eye didn't have an infection in the first place n the antibiotic drop made it worst or b) depends on how severely the infection is if there is any,and how long is the treatment duration

It was for 18 days I already finished the treatment they first gave us. It doesn't seem to have gotten worse but it hasn't gotten better.

Can u see anything stuck in her eyes like some shed skin?
Puffiness on the eyes??
Any discharge coming out on her eyes at all???
I'm going to the vet on Monday again to see what else we can do.
18 days is a long time when her eyes is being treated from the eye drops without any improvement ,I would take her to the vet again, and look into that problem eye closely.

I can't see anything in the eye. It is bulging towards the front of the eye. I've only seen discharge come out once and it was like a small white thing he worked out. And that was a while ago. I already have an appointment set up for Monday. I'm thinking it's a clogged gland or something since the eye drops didn't initially work

Eye infections often begin as a small white spot on the surface of the cornea (the clear front portion of the eye). As the infection progresses, it can spread over the entire surface and create an ulcer on the eye.
The treatment of eye infections usually consists of topical antibiotic eye drops with neomycin, chloramphenicol, or gentamycin most commonly used.
Since the eye drops wasnt working during the 18days treatment, your cham will probably need to be treated with a prescription systemic antibiotic, such as Baytril, orally or injected, please ask ur vet when u visit on Monday.
