Safe Fertilizer?

I usually buy at least two of the same plant. That way I can rotate them every couple of months from the cage to outside. When they are outside I put in fertilizer in them. But I change it back to topsoil before it goes back in the cage.

IDK if you have silk worms but I always use the frass (poop) as well as the runoff water from the the drip system/mister. I've also put a 50/50 mix of corn meal and coffee in the soil about once a month.
The frass is a good idea... I just dumped out a bunch today.. I try and remember to keep it next time.
Would cham poop also work well for the plant?

I think cham poop would be ok too, if you mixed it in well. Just to ensure that your cham didn't accidentally eat it, and to help stop mold growth
I think my runoff water is pretty poop laden!

would fertalizer sticks help? i sell little ones at menards that you stick in
house plants would there be any problems with these?

I think another problem with fertilizer in a chams cage is that the fertilizer gives off gasses that can be potentially harmful. Especially in a confined environment like a chameleon cage. The gases can build up.

this is what you do
your cage gets a lot of water, constant flush of medium without feeding
soooo to keep your plants healthy, simply take a spoonful of all purpose 10 10 10 or 8 10 10 time release fertilizor and sprinkle around the base of your plant
make sure when repotting to leave enough room to cover this area completely with a medium of your choice
obviously you wouldn't want to cover with coco if you have a small chameleon
grow rox river rocks marbles etc etc will all provide a barrier between chameleon life and your root bio zone
for those of you worried about run off of the excess nutes
worry not
with the frequency we water and the rate of release, you will never at any time have anything more than extremely low run off which will go straight to the floor and out of your cage...once again unless you are dumping a ton of ferts in there which you aren't, you have absolutely nothing to worry about as long as you cover this fert area of your pot with a good layer
