Are a fear of mine when planning my diy build.. is it an issue? Wat do u do?

i would try either painting them, or buy galvanized and they wont rust. A clearcoat of poly or something like that would also work.

that's a good point I guess after i stain and waterproof the cage I can then staple the screen on and go over witg one more coat of water proofer.. good call buddy
